No Sweets

I usually say that almost any food or drink is fine in moderation, but my consumptions of sweets lately hasn't been moderate. On Friday I had tons of sweets (candy, cookies, etc.) to celebrate Halloween, yesterday I had birthday cake and ice cream to celebrate a friend's birthday plus a cinnamon roll because a friend brought them to work to share, and today I had some apple pie at work just because it was there and everyone else was eating it. So I've decided that for the sake of my baby I need to cut out sweets for a time (at least until she's born which hopefully will be in the next couple of weeks). I wouldn't be so worried about this unusual spike in eating sweets, but because I'm supporting the life of another human being and I can't really exercise anymore I am worrying about it. So I will use this blog as my accountability tool and will be responsible to report on how I'm doing. I'd appreciate any encouraging thoughts, suggestions, etc.!

I know how you feel, over the halloween weekend I had sooo many sweets. I just couldn't stop myself!

I have been better the last few days thanks goodness. It's hard though sometimes.

You have made a good decision to cut out or at least dramatically decrease your sweets intake since you are with child. Even though it's hard I think that is good motivation!

Good luck I am working on the same plan too. We can help support each other!

I said that I would report my progress, and I am happy to say that I've done really well at decreasing my sweets consumption. I politely refused brownies, cookies, and other sweets on three separate occasions this week! I also let my co-workers and husband know what I was doing so that they could support me which is a really important component of any behavior change. However, me not eating brownies that neighbors brought over for Kyle and me caused Kyle to eat all of them himself! Oh well.. I did eat sweets at my baby shower today but didn't overindulge, and it was great!

Good for you steph. That is very exciting that you were able to resist that many temptations. I agree with you telling co-workers and close friends and of course family that you are trying to be healthier is always a good move. I feel that they respect my decision and try really hard not to pressure me into something that I shouldn't be having. (OF course this always goes in waves, that is my problem. I am so off and on it's horrible.) I would love to blame it on life but it is my fault. One day at a time though for sure. ;0)
